Amaney is committed to her work to rigorously and accurately document Arab public opinion. She has overseen the implementation of over 80 surveys. She has written numerous articles and books based on Arab public opinion and mass behavior. Her books include Barriers to Democracy and Of Empires and Citizens and her articles have appeared in the American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, Journal of Experimental Political Science, Comparative Political Studies and the Journal of Comparative Politics. She is also a leading figure in advancing the work of survey and lab experiments in the region, and she continues to work on several capacity building initiatives across the Arab world.

Michael has led or overseen more than 75 international surveys. He is a leading expert in survey methods to prevent data fabrication and is a coauthor of the AAPOR/WAPOR Taskforce Report on Quality of Comparative Surveys. His work on Arab public opinion, political Islam and political parties has been published in Comparative Political Studies, the Journal of Conflict Resolution, and the Journal of Democracy, among others. He has served as a research fellow at Harvard’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs and a Research Associate at the Pew Research Center.

Mark has been a pioneer in public opinion research in the Middle East and North Africa. He has directed or co-directed more than 100 social and political attitude surveys in the MENA region. Among his 15 books are The Evaluation and Application of Survey Research in the Arab World and Public Opinion in the Middle East: Survey Research and the Political Orientations of Ordinary Citizens. His scholarly articles reporting on survey-based research in MENA have been published in Public Opinion Quarterly, World Politics, Comparative Politics, Comparative Political Studies, British Journal of Political Science, Journal of Conflict Resolution and a score of other journals. Mark has directed or co-directed one or more social science and survey research capacity-building programs in 10 different Arab countries.
