Understanding Arab publics

ARAA has particular strengths in the study of public opinion.  The ARAA directors between them have more than 50 years of experience in the design and conduct of public opinion research in Arab countries. They have also published numerous articles, including some dealing with survey methodology, in high-impact social science journals.  Most of these articles, and their several university press books as well, are based on the analysis of data from original surveys in Arab countries.   Members of the ARAA leadership team, both individually and together, have organized and led social science research capacity-building workshops and longer-term projects in eight different Arab countries, as well as in the U.S

Local knowledge

ARAA works in close collaboration with in-country partners in many Arab countries.  These partners not only work with the ARAA team on the in-country conduct of surveys and capacity-building programs, many are also partners in the determination of project goals and design

Quality Control

ARAA employs the latest technology to ensure surveys are of the highest quality. Interviews are conducting using computer tablets to allow real-time data monitoring. Project leaders have also developed cutting-edge methods to detect data fabrication which have been featured in Science magazine and are considered the gold standard in the field. ARAA works only with trusted local partners and experienced interviewers to ensure the survey results of the highest quality for research and analysis.
